Two screens, four cores, and $1,500
digitaltrends.com
  • - 3.5
At $1,500, the ZenBook Duo is pricier than similar laptops. That hurts when you consider the less-than-great screen, chunkier design, and lack of Thunderbolt 3. The ScreenPad 2.0 is this laptop’s saving grace. It goes beyond the cool-factor (though it has plenty of that too). Even with compromises to the keyboard and touchpad, extreme multi-taskers will love having access to another panel right on the device.

In the ZenBook Duo UX482, the dual-screen laptop for the masses gets a turbo boost

The Asus ZenBook Duo keeps up with the times and continues to be more than a gimmick thanks to quality-of-life improvements and a jump to 11th Gen Intel chips. But you need to decide what’s more important to you: a second screen or a better typing/touchpad experience?

Dual-Screen Refinement

Asus' Zenbook Duo 14 UX482 improves the dual-screen laptop experience with better design, improved software and Intel 11th Gen muscle. But the typing and mousing experience is still compromised.

A better dual-screen notebook for less
engadget.com
  • - 4.2
ASUS's ZenBook Duo isn't perfect, but it's surprisingly compelling and a notable upgrade over last year's model. It's no wonder why it won our Best of CES 2021 award for PCs: the Duo is genuinely innovative in a time when many ultraportables are starting to feel stale. Dual-screen notebooks aren't for everyone just yet, but ASUS has made a stronger case for why you would want one.

Innovative, impressive, but flawed
itpro.com

The UX482 is more mixed. The touch displays offer great quality and versatility, battery life is impressive, and the Asus is cheaper than its rivals, but the second screen hinders comfort, and more performance can be found elsewhere. If you’re going to make ample use of that second screen, then those compromises are worth it – but if the ScreenPad isn’t a vital addition to your workflow then conventional laptops will deliver a more comfortable experience.

A dual-screen laptop that makes sense
cnet.com
  • - 4.25
The ZenBook Duo 14 is heavier than your average premium 14-inch laptop at 3.5 pounds (1.6 kilograms) but all things considered, that's still light and fairly thin at 16.9 millimeters (0.7 inch). Aside from the second display, this is a solid 14-inch laptop, with a nice main display with an IR camera, excellent performance and a long battery life. In the end, if you can get past the keyboard and touchpad layout, the second display really does come in handy, especially if you're a heavy Adobe user, from Photoshop to Illustrator to Premiere.

The future of laptops?
techradar.com

The Asus ZenBook Duo 14 UX482E is the company's latest dual-screen laptop. To Asus' credit, it's worked hard to ensure that the second screen is more than a mere curio, and it's now more useful and customizable than ever. New 11th-gen Intel processors, plenty of RAM and a sleek design make this a brilliant premium laptop, but it won't be for everyone.

Two screens, too many compromises

Asus ZenBook Duo 14 UX482 review
ultrabookreview.com

The ZenBook Duo 14 UX482 is not your regular 14-inch laptop. The main selling point is the fact that it comes with two screens, and that's paired with an alright hardware implementation of the Intel Tiger Lake platform that performs well and runs cooly, as well as long battery life and good connectivity. At the same time, there are some important trade-offs with this form-factor, which will impact your experience with the laptop. We'll get in-depth in the detailed review down below.

The Asus ZenBook Duo 14 scores highly in a lot of key departments but it is obviously all about that second screen – if you're going to find that display useful then it's a great option for your next laptop, otherwise you'll probably want to look at something else.
