Connections

You'll find Wifi 5 inside the laptop, which is the previous generation. However, this does not mean its necessarily a major disadvantage. Wifi 5 is more than capable for the majority of the users, with only top tier users really requiring Wifi 6 at the moment.

Bluetooth is included, however it is Bluetooth 4 which is the previous generation. This won't stop most users, but ensure that anything you're planning on using is Bluetooth 4 compatible - which is should be.

The Acer Chromebook Spin 311 is decent for school use. It's a compact laptop that's easy to carry around, with a battery that lasts almost sixteen hours of light productivity. It's a 2-in-1 convertible with a 360-degree hinge, which means you can flip the screen around into tablet mode. Unfortunately, the touchpad is tiny, and while the keyboard feels good to type on, it lacks backlighting. Its ARM-based SoC can handle light productivity tasks, but it isn't powerful enough for demanding workloads like graphic design.

As a budget-minded Chromebook, the newest version of the Spin 311 may be light on ports, but the MediaTek processor gives it truly all-day battery life while still having just enough power for schoolwork, light work, and casual computing. Since it lacks a microSD slot, I highly recommend buying the 64GB model.
