  • Navigate to https://zoom.us/ in your web browser, whether you’re using Google Chome, Mozilla, Internet Explorer, Opera Browser, or Safari.
  • Tap on RESOURCES, and then select "Download Zoom Client."
  • Hit the "Download" button."
  • The application will then be downloaded and will appear on your downloads and the bottom left of your screen.

Zoom constantly issues updates, but the Zoom application on your laptop does not update automatically. You need to therefore check for and install updates regularly.

To update the Zoom application on your laptop, follow these steps: Windows 10

  • If you're running Windows 10, go to the taskbar and click the Windows icon.

  • Scroll through your application list until you reach the Zoom folder.

  • Select the Zoom folder.

  • To open the program, double-click on Start Zoom.

  • Login into the Zoom app with SSO/NetID after it has opened (or log out and again in to ensure you're logged in with SSO).

  • Update the software by clicking your photo/initials in the top right corner.

  • Follow the instructions to update Zoom.

    Windows 8

  • Simply tap the Windows icon in the taskbar in Windows 8.

  • To view All Apps, hit the down arrow in the lower-left corner.

  • Scroll down until you see Zoom, and afterward hit Start Zoom.

  • Login into the Zoom app with SSO/NetID after it has opened (or log out and again in to ensure you're logged in with SSO).

  • Update the software by clicking your photo/initials in the top right corner.

  • Follow the instructions to update Zoom.

Mac

  • Locate the Finder icon in your dock if you're using a Mac.
  • Right-click the icon and choose New Finder Window.
  • Select Applications in the new window. Locate zoom.us in your application list and double-click its icon to launch the app.
  • Login into the Zoom app with SSO/NetID after it has opened (or log out and again in to ensure you're logged in with SSO).
  • Update the software by clicking your photo/initials in the top right corner.
  • Follow the instructions to update Zoom.

(For some, but not all, Zoom upgrades, the Zoom application will display a banner indicating "A new version is available!" Simply click Update under that banner to update your application.)

How To Cast Zoom to TV From Laptop

Using the Chromecast is one of the simplest options to cast Zoom from your laptop to TV.

To start casting:

  • Launch and sign in to your Zoom meeting.
  • Minimize the meeting tab and launch a new window of Google Chrome Browser immediately after everyone joins the meeting with their video cams turned on.
  • Three dots will appear in the upper right of the browser. Hit it and select the "Cast" option.
  • After tapping Cast, your Chromecast device will appear in the "Sources" section. Simply tap "Cast Desktop" after selecting the device.
  • After picking the Cast Desktop option, a new pop-up window will appear, displaying the screen you wish to cast. You must first choose the one where the Zoom Meeting is already in progress and then click the "Share" option.
  • The meeting will be instantly projected on the TV after hitting the Share button.
  • That's it. Now you can take advantage of a vivid virtual experience on a much larger screen.
