How To Charge a Laptop Without a Charger

Suppose you're leaving town for a weekend trip. Maybe you're heading to the beach for the holidays, or maybe you're going camping and trekking in the woods. You decide to take your laptop since it will be convenient to edit and save your photos and videos, watch movies, or sneak in some work in your spare time. When you're away from home, a laptop can give you some sort of comfort.

But when you settle in your hotel room or tent, you discover you neglected to bring your laptop charger. Your laptop barely has a ten percent battery remaining, so you'll have to do without it on this trip. That important email you had to send will just have to wait.

But hold on! That doesn't have to be the case. You can charge your laptop without even a regular laptop charger. It's fairly simple, and you should learn how to do it if you're a tech-savvy person who feels obliged to bring your laptop with you whenever you travel.

How To Charge an HP Laptop Without a Charger

Every laptop, including your HP laptop, includes an internal battery. All you have to do to charge the battery is feed it with some energy. Often, we hook our laptop into a power outlet in our house, and electricity flows via the wire and into the battery.

A laptop charger is undoubtedly the most efficient means of transferring electricity to your laptop battery, but there are alternative options. All you need are the following:

  • Power source
  • Way of transferring electricity to the battery

Charge Your HP Laptop with USB-C

If your laptop has an integrated USB-C connector, you may charge it with a USB-C cable. You only need to ensure that the cord has a plug adapter. Some laptops even use a USB-C cord as the primary charger.

To do this:

  • Insert one end of the USB-C wire into a power source.
  • Connect the opposite end of the USB-C cable to your laptop.

That's about it.  As long as you have a USB-C cable, it's a piece of cake. But that is the obvious issue. What if you can't get your hands on one? Ironically, getting a USB-C cable would be as difficult as getting a new laptop charger. And stopping by a computer supply store may be impossible, especially if you're trapped on an island on your beach getaway.

How To Charge a Dell Laptop Without a Charger

If you spend too much time on the road, you will almost certainly need to recharge your Dell laptop while not being able to plug it into a wall socket. Traditional chargers often do not operate in the absence of standard wall electrical outlets. Fortunately, you can charge your laptop using your car's battery.

Charge Your Dell Laptop with Car Battery

Whether you're driving your own car or renting one when your plane lands, you may make use of the electricity it generates. It's quite simple to use it to charge your laptop. You will, however, need two items:

  • AC adapter (USB Type-A connector on one end USB-C connector on the other end)
  • Car USB charger

To charge your laptop in your car:

  • Connect the car charger to the charging port on your vehicle. Many modern vehicles include USB connections that you can plug into, so you may not even need a car charger.
  • Connect the USB-C connector to your laptop.

Keep an eye on the laptop as it charges in your car. Leaving it unattended for an indefinite amount of time might result in overheating caused by prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.

How To Charge an Asus Laptop Without a Charger

It's upsetting when your Asus laptop's battery dies and you don't have your charger with you. But don't fret just yet.  Even if you don't have the original charger, you might be able to charge it via one of its USB Type-C connections.

Charge Your Asus Laptop with a Power Bank

You could use a power bank to charge your laptop in the same manner that you would charge your smartphone when there's no other way to power it up.  Power banks are available in a range of varieties, and they are not all manufactured with the same charging capacity.

Most likely, your power bank will only be able to recharge your laptop battery either once or twice, especially if you're recharging a more powerful laptop. It's critical to make sure your power bank is fully charged.

Charging your laptop using a power bank is a simple process. All you have to do is plug the power bank into your laptop. The best part about power banks is that they don't need to be hooked when charging your laptop. The problem with this trick is that although most laptops require 8v to 12v power, most power banks only provide 5volts, which means you'd have to acquire a power bank that supports 12v or higher.

How To Turn On a Laptop Without a Battery or Charger

Imagine being able to work, stream movies, listen to music, and play games on a laptop that doesn't have a battery or a charger! Sounds crazy, don't you think? It's not quite impossible, after all.

Typically, laptops are built to use both a battery and an AC adapter as a power source. But you can power on a laptop even without its battery, and even if the standard AC charger isn't used. The most typical answer to your laptop battery or charger problems is a universal adapter. These versatile chargers come with a variety of tips, so you should be able to find one that fits in your laptop's charging port.  Individual tips can also be purchased individually. Some universal adapters may even recharge your laptop from a car or other 12V DC power sources.  When connected in, the adapter not only powers but also charges the laptop. Keep in mind however that universal adapters might generate inappropriate voltage and harm your laptop if used incorrectly.

You don't have to cut your trip short or stress if you forget your laptop charger. There are other ways to charge it. All you need are the necessary equipment and with the tips we've given, you can keep using your laptop even if the battery goes out.
